A discontinued luxury fifth wheel can offer unusual space and construction, but age, maintenance and prior repairs matter more than the name on the sidewall.
Identity and paperwork
- Match the VIN, title, model year, series and floorplan.
- Review maintenance records, ownership history and any insurance or structural repairs.
- Confirm that alterations and added equipment are documented.
Water and structure
- Inspect the roof, seams, windows, slide openings and lower wall edges for evidence of water intrusion.
- Check the pin box area, frame, suspension attachment points and floors for movement, corrosion or past damage.
- Operate every slide and inspect seals, alignment and mechanisms.
Running gear and systems
- Verify tire age and load rating—not only tread depth.
- Have brakes, bearings, axles and suspension inspected.
- Test 12-volt and 120-volt electrical systems, plumbing, LP gas and every installed appliance.
Weights, hitch and tow vehicle
Use actual weight ratings and measured loaded weights. Confirm the truck, hitch, tires and axles are suitable for the specific coach. Large older Tetons can be exceptionally heavy; a professional RV inspection and towing-equipment review are prudent before purchase.
TetonHomes.com does not sell, inspect, endorse or verify used RVs or sellers. Any external inventory is independent. Never send funds or personal documents until you have verified the seller, title and coach.
